Thought you did the bumpers already to stay one in front.
Repainted the front and rear crashbars.....
Cleaned up 1 chrome bumper bar, the other in progress.
Scmickar $$ney Grantus, as the old saying goes, the quality remains long after the price is forgotten, as an aside , is it warm enough to tighten up 1/4 glass fixings to hold open before d/c are in place. Will it get a front bra for paint protection !
Yeah those sliding windows are a lot of work depending on how much corrosion in under the anodizing. Sand blast, sand out imperfections and paint is what I did on the Caravelle. All the parts are available still I am pretty sure.
I think they came up OK with a good clean and polish. The new Chrome trim in the rubber has also lifted them.
But the sliding window catch, and door handle has since been removed. Off next door for a sandblast, and some black baked cerakote finish.
Those wheels dont do it justice either
One could argue, that those were the actual wheels it came with 30 years ago........
But the 18” MAK’s are def going back on.
I would assume so - just shit stirring
Why they still issued those steel T2 wheels, with the T3 is a mystery.
Maybe they accidentally ordered 30 million, instead of 3 million in the 70’s, so they had to get rid of the excess stock in the following years....
Sliding door windows do look good Grant ........ look even better when the others are back in as you eyes aren't drawn to the non window areas
Is that just a casual DOKA for scale, or has your fleet expanded?
Welcome t ur wrld
At home and the assembly begins. That was a fast turn around from you getting it sent away to having it safe in the garage again. Very impressed with it
Always somebody visiting at your place it seems
I was working on a 28 day turn around, from taking it off the road, to being back on the road.
This is day 21, and if I put in some long hours in the next 7, it may happen....
However, I am going away for 2 weeks in 10 days time, so the deadline is soft enough, that if it’s not totally complete on the 28th day, I’ll find a few more hours after that.
Slowly slowly, after so much scrubbing and cleaning, I think I’m losing my fingerprints!
More glass, gutter trims, air vents, tail lights, blenders, and engine flap back on.........
That looks like great progress Grantus & looks like you'll make the 28 day turnaround, Bali & Old Bar.
No fingerprints = no identity. That could be to your advantage in some circumstances.
KB looking great & with preserved KC sticker as well. Keep at it.
The reflections off the paint are giving us a guided tour of your workshop & some envy here!
The workshop is a chaotic mess at the moment, with the Kanga Banga taking up the only free tight space, blocking all access, and the rest is covered in parts in the tidy up process.......
Thus the 28 day plan - I REALLY need the workshop back!
whish my w/shop was as tidy as yours
