If you were selling a 2011 T5, but listed it as a 2013 model, it would be worth more if the buyer believes it is a 2013 one.......

    But a 72 Lowlight, is usually worth more than a 74 bay..o_O

I thought the 73 was the difficult transitional one, as in, looked like a bay all round, but still much lowlight in the guts............ but you could be right.o_O

71 last full lowlight bodywise but with the disc brakes and a few better tweeks on motor etc.
72 the crossover with Lowie front and late rear
thought 73 was all late body and bumpers but still fuel cap . possibly some other details??
74 is full late bay body and cosmetically ,but some changes occurred over 74 and 75 in steering wheel splines and a bit of other stuff like engines and gearbox.
Naturally all this is off the top of my head so could be sus on some details o_O
    but generally typical.?

Not going to dispute that Col.

its more comfortable but got the bay running well at mo so putting some effort into it. [slowly]
no one talks to '3' owners :(
saw a couple around the traps today.
If you recon only 2k were imported might be worth starting a thread and trying to find how many still running plus a list of the demised?
should be able to identify a fair few?

    Not 2k.

As I understand it, around 4500 total were sold by VW Australia in the 12 years between 1980 and 1992.

Of the variants, less than a 1,ooo were air cooled, around 280 were DOKA's, and of those DOKA's, less than 80 were Syncros......

    And the ONE Tristar.

    Telstra bought 300 Syncro panels.

Other than the overall sales, the other stat's are not easy to nail. o_O

I talk to T3 Kombi owners........ in fact, I talk to ALL Kombi owners! :D

chasing 4500 might be a bigger task but I can start with 1 /83AC kombi and 1/ 86 DOKA
maybe I should start a new thread :)
    and the rare list
    74 crossover bay.

So your 86 DOKA was a private import, not one sold by VW Australia then?

And yes....start a new thread, coz the stats would be good!:)

72 and 73 had wipers swipe opposite way to earlier and later models - they swiped up from passenger side - all other bays were up from drivers side.
