Well some photos I have lost but here are a few to help make sense of the conversion.

The twin carbies and their manifolds have been replaced with the EFI manifold from a Type 4 2L and the mixer is fitted to the drivers side of that manifold. You can see from the Efi manifold pics that some of the variuos holes have been welded up.

The convertor is mounted up above the muffler on the passengers side to rob a bit of heat from the exhaust.

Then a line runs up into the engine bay and across to the mixer.

The fuel filler was then run up to the exsisting location which is very tidy. I just got an after market oil cap from Supercheap and turned it out on the lathe and glued a standard LPG filler cap into it to make it look a bit flasher.

L & D I don't know about your local gas fitters down there but expect to pay anywhere from $2500 - $3000 before the Govts rebate.

Here are some photos of the Rock and Rolll bed fitted over the top of the tank.
The upholstery I hope will happen over the next few weeks, I am working on new door cards this weekend. They will be the tan of the cards I have done beside the rock and roll.

    The bed with just foam

I made a removeable storage just above the tank. Not very deep but great for some tools and stuff, much better than wasting the space.

The bed lifted to show the storage

Drove 'wilfred this morning. Sorry about the ding Brett.
Toni n Brett havent even got him back yet. Ha Ha.
Been years since Ive been able to do power slides in a kombi. Drives like a modern fuel injected car. Heaps of grunt ,especially up hills. you are going to have to concentrate on suspension upgrade now.
    cheers

No the interior is not done I am saving for a new motor then the interior after that. There will be no problems with the bed folding down.

It doesn't hinder the view out the back window so I am happy with that, I had to custom build it for around the tank so it is impossible to relate it to any others.

It is comfortable and folds up well so I am stoked with it.

115 litre tank( maybe 120L would have to look on the tank but somewhere between the two), the hinges are from the bus stop.

Tired old stock motor so I guess thats is the fuel figures will be getting a newy soon with a bit of work done to it. I will be interested in the consumption on the new motor. But I can't argue with the bowser it takes what it takes.

Carbs are long gone sorry but a member kombiwhisper may be interested in your efi stuff.

Wilfred is another from the kombiwhispher's stable of gas conversions.

Geoff is seeing the old dog in a couple of weeks to service him (his engine that is.....;) ) and get him tuned and running perfectly for Dyno Mania in July.

Like Alex says our conversions have worked brilliantly but still to fit the gas gage to get accurate measurements from the bowser. But his engine runs like a dream!

    Cheers
    Brett

Will post dome pics of te new motor in I haven't started collecting fuel consumption figures yet as I wanted to give it a few 1000ks to bed in..

But I am stoked that I filled up for 52c p/l when the priemium bowser was $1.49 p/l even with some efficiency lost to the gas I am a winner by miles......miles per/gallon

Will post motor pics later and start my fuel book.

Now for a trimmer for the inside
