New ride...(to be)
Just a little stoked!!
Even has original log books.
Sweet lowie !
Even with the lowered tyres
Spun the wheels around and put the round part to the bottom.. All fixed!
71 Lowlight Deluxe... Can not get much better
What's your plans? Rat or resto?
Old saying - all tyres are flat on the bottom
Resto I think Lorraine.
But that could all change once I get it home and see what I really am working with.
So far I KNOW there is rust under the battery, passenger door (outer skin), inside sill of one back window (left outside for 5 years with the qtr window open....) & a bit on the floor under said window..
Just trying to get keys sorted so it's easier to move around.
You of all peeps should know its a 72 - check the front arches and the rear air intake vents.
Still a great bus though.
If the factory plate says 12/71 does that mean its a 72?
Next years models started around August, after they retooled the machinery over their summer break....
So yes, December 71, they were making 72 models.
Thanks for the info.
Got lots to learn on his one. The other one was a jump in and drive away..
As Grant said - its a 72 after August (roughly).
Note yours was like my 71 - made by Australian Motor Producers Limited - with only a brief mention of Volkswagen at the time - think that was to get around the local producers rules.
