Last week I had a weak moment on eBay and bought a kombi with my wife's permission.

I had been restoring one a couple of years ago but lost interest and sold it, I've never driven one till we picked this one up, 300km away. I almost turned around after leaving as it was all over the road but after a while I got used to it.
Got home with no issues so I'm happy, the kids love it too.

That looks like a fantastic buy for what appears to be an excellent bus.

It looks better in the pics and he didn't mention the gearbox jumps out of 2nd either. Anyway we are still happy with the car. Now need to get it roadworthy, gearbox any ideas? Seats, where do I buy new covers or where do I send for a retrim? The clutch cable broke the 1st time Kathie drove it so that's getting fixed this weekend if the parts arrive.

Ooolahlah....I saw this on evilbay.....was sooo tempted to push the button but hesitated.....really wanted a pop top. Glad you won the bid as it seems it has gone to a very appreciative home! AND it seemed a bargain! Enjoy your new toy.

Well I,also, saw this on Evilbay, and have to say it would have to be in pretty bad nick for it to be anything but a good buy. Snapped clutch cable, arr the joys of Kombi land. :umm:

Once you sort all the little bugs, the joy of driving this toy will really hit home. I have a new CX5 in the garage, and you know what I use as my daily driver. My Kombi. The Mazda is about as interesting to drive with all its creature comforts as driving a fridge. Wheras Neville puts a smile on my dial, and waves from the masses. Welcome:cool:

Nice find, the jump out of 2nd may be a simple clutch cable adjustment,
That's all it was on mine, however a few adjustments later my cable snapped also, So got underneath and replaced the bowden Tube, and the 2 bushes up front chucked in a well greased new cable and it hasn't jumped since.

Thats a good start any way

  15. I think I had a squiz at this at the nabiac swap meet??????? looks pretty solid.

We've got boxes of goodies coming in at the moment for a tidy up. New paint over Christmas, new upholstery, new wheels, lowering and sliding windows.

Got the front out putting in the adjusters. What a horrible job that is to do. Having a coffee before I start bolting it back in.
