The Yarra Valley in Autumn.
Exceptional photos of nature doing what nature does best.
Has any members taken the time to watch a spider spin it's web ,It's fascinating to see it take shape then in the morning it's gone ,only to return the next night to do it all over again.hell of a way to catch a meal.
After almost walking through and wearing a large cobweb on the way inside the house, we all stood and watched an orb spin it’s web one evening and found it fascinating! The time it takes and the perfection, astounding.
Another summer evening I was out and again, almost walked right through the beginning of another web but this time must have upset the creator too much and was amazed watching it pack up what it had started. I felt really guilty that I had interrupted what could have been the perfect restaurant for that eight legged creature. I have seen my Mum wind up wool from her knitting with speed but she would never compete with the velocity of a spider packing up its web!
The shadow of little Joseph and the Orb on the climbing rose.
It's so nice to see all your contributions. This is going to be an amazing thread & Roy from The Bus Stop is going to need some more server space. Thanks again Roy. Keep 'em coming KC'ers.
A shared life is a better life!
It's always good to hear about someone's special moments .
This shadow photo of Joseph IS a photo that should be printed out and framed as it may never happen like this again .
Well done you for seeing it's potential. To capture the spider in the photo is a bonus .memories for both you and Paul to reflect on. Not sure i like the idea of walking through cob webs though.
Regards Chris .
Ps Carolyn is so looking forward to B S 2020 and meeting you all
Sharon snapped this one - I don't have the reflexes. They came up right beside the boat. Patrick
Magnificent. Truly thread worthy.
SS Maheno launched in 1905. 114 yrs later (just a moment in the scheme of things)
Tell us more of that image pls tintop? Is that what a rusty boat image looks like on the ocean floor after 114yrs?
I don't think a kombi would still be there after such time,in the ocean.
Yes it would Wayne,,,,,, only difference is it would be a Kombi shaped reef occupied by Hippy fish.hahaha
SS Maheno - in service 1905 - 1935. Was going to be scrapped but nature took over and is still working on it.
Thank you Chris.
No, it’s never a pleasant feeling walking into a cobweb. I have a vivid memory as a kid, of walking through one attached to the clothesline and the spider fell straight down my shirt. I’ve never stripped off so fast!
Really looking forward to meeting Carolyn also.
Amazing textures and colours!
Ye of little faith Wayne,it would be resurrected as something else more suited to its present location.
Beside the Moreton Island pier - a couple of days old I was told (in the evening with my dodgy phone camera so not great quality)
Keep em coming tintop. Gee .....I wish I got to travel north on the east coast in winter. Another Canberrian escapes the cold.
It would if it's a '76!
