    Hey all,

I just became the new owner of a lovely '75 bus 2. I need to urgently replace the rear tail light assy. Has anyone got the Hella part number for this beast? I am also after recommendations for headlights..

I realise these questions have been asked a million times, i have endeavoured to use the search function with no luck.

    Thanks again

    Aaron

Welcome Aaron and congrats on the Kombi. Lots of parts suppliers local and overseas. Owner of Bus Stop provides this forum so worth supporting. We love to see pics of the beasts. No probs asking ANY question. We all learn from the discussion.

    Welcome to KC Aaron....
Don’t be tempted to use higher wattage headlight globes, than stock.
I’ve been down this road and ended up with a failed ignition switch as a result of overloading the wiring.
Failed/failing ignition switch blocks will show up as many different symptoms and it can be a bugger of a fault to trace.
Too high a draw of current, resulting from higher wattage globes, passing through the ignition switch will fry it.
Keep everything as close as possible to stock for reliability and longevity.
    Enjoy the ride
    Cheers,
    Mark

If your bus has H4 pattern headlight bulbs and the reflectors are in good nick, you may be able to upgrade to a more modern globe but maintains the same wattage used 55/60 ,in reality the new globes are equivalent or less power used but can produce a brighter light with the advancement in light globe technology.
Or if you don't have H4 you can buy new headlight units for your bus that can take H4 then do the same thing as I mentioned above :rolleyes:with the globes.

Mick Motors @ Northgate Qld has a good website to search for your needs + knowledgeable staff who own VW's .... this is another source for your parts ;)
