That's the idea I'll be able to see those horrid little things from far away and be able to avoid them ;)

    Great photos Ev.

Finally got my deluxe bumper trim rubbers today in the mail so all that polishing of my aluminium brackets was not a waste of time. Very happy - Santa was early this year.

Now to find time to take off the rear bar, drill the holes out again and paint the bar before refitting the brackets back on.

Dont forget there is round two this Sunday @ the Haven.

    Hi Evsky.
It's not your everyday engine. It's a destroked 1600, about 1597 by my calculations.
Stroke is 62mm with 90.5 pots and heads. K8 Cam, 35 exhaust,40 inlet, 1.34 ratio rockers.
The oil galleys have been opened up and an extra sump added. Running twin 44 IDF's and a sindwinder exhaust. The case has been shortened by 7mm in width and is running a very high compression. I couldn't talk to the guy who made it unfortunatley because he died in a mining accident over 10 years ago. I have fully pulled it apart and rebuilt it, and amazingly it still goes very well. It had never been run before I put it in Krackerz.
I can't find out much about the engine build but apparently they used to be built for speed way as they can rev very high. It is a pig to drive below 2500 rpm but easily revs out to 8000rpm. As it winds out it puts a few surprises on the faces of drivers you are suddenly passing. Not what they where expecting from an old Kombi.
Still trying to work it all out with the twin 44's.
Know any good weber men who can help out?
There is alot of insulation around the engine bay to damping the noise. It does sound good and you really need to hear the engine when at low revs to be able to time the gear changes properly.
Come and have a look next time we meet up, hopefully you can give me a few pointers on setting it up a bit better.
    Regards, Gus.
