Hi to all. Last owned a kombi back in 82 when I bought this blue and white 76 for the pricely sum of $3400. Its sitting beside my dad's 70 lowlight (and yes that's my old man and not me :)). Over the last few years my son has got the bug ( or should I say the kombi) and hired a couple both here in Vic and down in Tassie for a couple of driving holidays. Suffice to say the itch had started and I've been looking around seriously for the last 6 months or so. I finally found my old girl in QLD after running out of options here down south and have just spent the last 3 days driving it down from northern QLD to Brisbane where it was placed on a transporter en-route to Melbourne. Brought back great driving memories - including how interesting side winds get! (Thanks to those here who provided some feedback on suggested carriers). Hoping "Ruby" will arrive in the same condition I left her in! Looking forward to getting involved here. BTW - trying to track down the passenger seat retainer bracket that the top of the seat slides in to - any suggestions of where to find one? Cheers, Jim.

    Hi Jim,
Welcome to the Kombi Club & Ruby looks sweet;). Can't help with the seat bracket but be pretty easy to make out of some rod & spring plate. Maybe some on here have a spare? I can pop up a photo of mine.

Agree with the side winds:eek:. Always makes Kombi driving interesting:rolleyes:.
    Cheers

Re the bracket ..... is it the one on the back of the seat (upper mounting point in the pic) or the one on the bulk head
