OK so I didn't actually spot it in real life but I did spot it strangely enough not on the cover of his album Feeler but on a new book by Melina Marchetta (author of Looking for Alibrandi).

Apparently Pete used the Kombi as his wedding car and he used to use it to cart all his musical equipment around.

As I'm a geek for geography I used the orientation of the Tax Office (octagonalish building), 101 Collins and BHP Plaza buildings, used the large apartment blocks on the left of the photo, the unique parking of the cars, the single fronted houses, tree and light-pole next to Pete to determine that he is standing in front of 162 Station Street Carlton just before it gets to Princes Street/Alexander Parade. I don't see a Kombi on GoogleMaps though!

    Trav.

Pete lives up near Byron. I gave him an A4 print of my Beavis and Butthead from my avatar.

Mel I didn't want to make it obvious that I realized it was really him....but I know he knew I'd recogized him :) .....
arh celebrity spotting happens often in Byron...just act like they are not there....which can be hard sometimes when you want to have a chat to them...
