    Hi again..

Our brakes are really loud....they work well but when brakes applied a very loud squeaking from both front wheels

I have checked rotors which are clean and in goodish order, brake pads are new looking and clean and no obvious rubbing or loose parts etc..

BUT the current brakes do NOT have the thin metal shim that sits inside the caliper between pads and brake piston....

Could this lack of shim cause the horrid squeaking noise?

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Thanks Ian and Shelley

yep you need the anti squeal shims (and i usually use a thin layer of anti squeal brake grease)

think the part number is 211-615-231/32

they have tabs that line up with notches on the caliper pistons - your pistons may have rotated a bit if you've been driving without them
