I hadn't been for a skin check for 3 years, stupid me.

I got lucky with a stage 2 Melanoma that had been there most of that time.

Sad part is the damage was done years ago before "slip, slop, slap":(. I wear sunscreen every day now but funnily my skin gets older for the sins of the past:mad:.
    Cheers

I'm wearing the badges the sun has forged as well.
If it changes, itches or scabs, get it checked. If they palm you off, get another opinion.
Just a sun spot may be a BCC, get it gone. Or it could be a squamous cell or a melanoma then it needs treatment asap!

Annual checkups, with a trusted person that actually knows what they are looking at, is def the way to go.

Spending all day , everyday in the sun , I get checked as often as possible. Although I’m not a huge sunscreen fan, that’s a whole other discussion.
Hope all goes well mate and good on ya for getting the message of regular checks out there

Best wishes Chris for the recovery. Now you need a good story on how you got the scar!
Had a spot chopped out of my back many years ago. Local GP was not too concerned but Carol insisted it get removed. Turned out to be a level 2 so straight to hospital and more chopped out to ensure all was removed. Good job by Carol and the hospital.
Get your skin checked by someone who really knows.

I get checked every 6 months. Very expensive but worth not going to a GP. My previous sins were every weekend at the beach during my teens, then sailing and cycling.

    Get Checked! Keep covered up.

My wife/co-pilot was taken by melanoma.

A mole was cut out on her back, checked all clear, 4 years later developed to stage 4, lost her 10 months later.

Live life today as tomorrow is not guaranteed.
