Seem to be a few of these buses with the retro stripes popping up at the moment...love it!
Anyone got any idea whether the stripes are aftermarket or were an option?

As I recall the stripes were usually an after market option or came with the camper conversion.
I'm possibly wrong as the memory is a bit hazy about those days.;)
Nice find though, it's amazing what's still hidden away.

If you wanted the stripes a good sign maker could make some new retro looking ones

I was thinking of nurturing them so the bus would carbon balance itself!

Good to see another one on the road to recovery.. good work...
I take it, using the cupboards as templates is no longer the plan
    ;)

unfortunately not, i think it would be easier to build the new cupboards from matchsticks, problably get the r/r bed and build the cup[boards around that

    Latest on 73 Bay project

Done a bit more today on the rot, cut out the right hand inner sill panels, amzingly, all the connecting panels ie the outriggers are all good and obtained a used panel from Alec (Klub VW Toowoomba), reconditioned it (had a few bits of tin worm)! and almost ready to be welded in :D

    More resto piccys

Just a quick update, welded in the inner sill section and just welded the outer sill, although i've just realised i've only got pics prior to welding , so will take a few more pics in the morning, still have to weld up hole at fron end of sill closing panel under wheel arch , then move on to the cab floor repair, decided against new panels, will fabricate panels myself :D
