Sunvisors arrived from Vintage VeeDub today, tried cleaning up the old ones but the drivers side had a broken stay and the passengers an ugly sharp mirror glued on by previous owner..
Besides, would have done the headliner an injustice i think.

Trying to find the cause of a funny wind/speed related noise up front, so off for a drive down the road..
Stopped to check a few things and the light was just right...

Does it make any difference with the wind noise. when the air levers are up or down.I thought sometimes I get a similar wind noise when its windy and you are driving it seems to get into the front venting and the noise is in the air vent panels somewhere. It seems to need certain conditions to make it happen,Annoying as hell to find:mad:. It only happens in my 76 ute might have something to do with year models the way they are made.

It odd, cause it wasn't there pre-resto , so obviously something since. The noise isn't coming from the vents, or ambulance fan area. Seems to be below near footwell area, and only over 60kph, drivers side only.. Have checked the belly pan for things left behind, checked the hub caps for loose screw, very odd... It also seems to have a rotary pattern to it, but if i drive with door open, i cant hear anything from front right wheel area..

I was going to say aerial but I know I spoke to you about the one you used so it isn't that.

    Hi DanSA,
Percy looks the goods. Great job.
Rotative noise should be obvious source. Is the bedding of the fresh air vent 'even' after that front panelbeat. I'm sure you've checked it but it's only an idea.
I've had very odd air things happen with these buses. I found that if I taped over panel joins , bumper edges etc it's a way to eliminate. Don't forget to tape the input vents of inside vertical edge of the door at the front (could be an air 'pulse' thing inside the door) (I'd do this first).
I'm very sus of the plastic door card liner. Thinking it's stiff plastic & taunt. Does pulse change with door vent open/closed?
    Cheers
PS. eg. The original Sopru roof rack used to hum at 90 kph ( not faster or slower) when unladen. An ocky strap interleaved between spokes stopped it!

Hey mate did you still have the dimensions to cut out for your stereo?

My painter filled mine tonight as it was hacked like yours! I was going to get it cut to DIN size then see yours with the 2 holes!

Hi Jase, Mine is smaller than DIN and close to original smaller size. I had them cut it to the size required by the Model 2 Radio I bought.

If you are using a std modern radio, DIN size will work.

I don't want to order the radio just yet but I'm getting the dash painted soon!

If i get it cut to din will the Retro stereo be too small?

    DanSA,
Haven't heard from you for a while. How did the 'pulsate' noise go?
    Cheers

    Been snowed under with work..
Haven't tracked down the noise yet, but its not bad, just different. Its in for a major service in a couple of week which will be good for peace of mind as hes getting used a fair bit on school runs etc..

Paint still looking crisp and everything working well so far.

Dan, have you looked at the speedo cable? I had a similar thing where I could hear a noise that would get louder the faster I went over 60kms. It started out as a hum/vibration noise and then got noticeably louder over time. I sprayed some silicone spray down the speedo cable and that stopped the noise.
