There was an article in VW Camper & Commercial a month or so ago about a meet in England. I think they had 24 barndoors with the oldest being a March 1951 model panel van.

    Hi Dan

Re seat question,Some of my splittys have handle bars on the backs of the seats.
I'm no expert, but some early splitty seats(middel) have grab handles bar either on top or at the back and some have ash trays too.
Not sure if Bay's to had grab handle bars in the same position, may be someone else will know?
I will put afew picies up soon.
    hope this helps:D
Red seats in a 1966 splitty
Light Tan seats in a 1960 splitty

    Hi Dan

Yes $2500.00 I feel is a bit much for a seat.....Have they been retrimed?
I have bought seats in the passed and payed($450 for a real splitty seat)
Which I thought was Fair enough as it still had the origanal Vynal which was still in good nick.:D

    Yah cutting a walk through
    I wouldn't do it.

    Hi Geoff,

They are some weird pics you put up.
The one with red seats....Where is the spare wheel pressing on the bulkhead?
The one with the tan seats ..... The seats look like they are from a bay window.
Real splits (pre 1968) didn't have the grab handle on the back of the seat, they were always on top.

The first one , the red one is a South African if I am not mistaken as they came with the spare in the back like bays.
The second pic is a bay seat
