Hi, I have recently joined as I have a 17yr old daughter who loves everything 'kombi' and is driving me crazy while we try and locate the right vehicle to buy. As yet, we have been unable to find a kombi and have just about exhausted all avenues for the moment.

However, we have joined the Kombi club and look forward to making some new friends. The information on this site is proving invaluable to a couple of newbies.

Hopefully soon, we can post a picture of a Kombi that we can call our own. Our search continues!!!

Welcome to the party that never ends - a kombi will find you before you find a kombi - one will appear on either a VW forum (kombiclub or AVD) or a car sales site.

Happy hunting, accept the disappointments, savour the joy of finding one :p :D

Thanks guys, we will continue with our search. As they say, good things come to those who wait. My daughter (and me just quietly) can't wait to get behind the wheel of a kombi.

Welcome to the Club Bundy Bob
Has your 17 yo daughter ever driven a kombi?
Its not the easiest vehicle to drive..
She might loose her desire for one when she has to try parking it or overtaking or its heating / air conditioning system..or when the wind picks up and it decides to change lanes...or finding / grinding gears
I could go on....you get the idea...

    Gidday Betsy,
She has driven several and loves it. I have told her the same things, but she is adamant. Besides, if the novelty wears off, then I will have myself a Kombi!!

Bundy Bob, are you looking for a registered bus or a project? I am thinking of selling my current bus, doesn't need much for rego. Send me a pm if you want a look.

Well, the news is good, my daughter has managed to buy herself a 74 deluxe bus in pretty good condition, very little rust, couple of little dings, reconditioned engine and gearbox. Now the fun begins, a bit of body work, paint job and a new interior.

    Good Stuff.
They are a great car for learning to drive I reckon.
Yes - they are not too safe in a crash (heaven forbid), but if well maintained they handle pretty well and they don;t provide the need for speed.
The large seating capacity could provide a distraction but some good teaching can always help with that.

And the best bit - is a daddy daughter project!!

Congratulations on the purchase. Looks like a very solid, honest bus. Your daughter must be pleased with that :)
