I'm wondering if anyone has fitted aircon to their T3 after doing a Suby conversion.. I'm thinking all Subaru components..

Would be difficult to fit a Subaru evaporator / fan coil but everything else could be Subi.

I know this probably a bit out there but I was thinking of putting fan/ evaporator under the back seat.. ( rock n roll) with cold air outlet aimed to the front. .... and leaving all the existing front heating /demist plumbing in place..
Dont how efficient this would be cold air would be but might be a lot easier installation.

Should work as long as it is a big enough unit and you don’t block the air flow with stuff

    I have a syncro T3 with 2.2 Subaru engine, which I fitted A/C to.
Subaru compressor with vintage air evaporator, go westy cross flow condenser in front of the radiator, and tube and fin condenser with 2 fans under neath in spare wheel carrier.
Rubber hydraulic hoses to and from compressor.
The cross flow condenser from go westy made all the difference.
Works well but I'm planning an upgrade once we get home.
I'm going to reconfigure the dash and improve the air outlets.

Thanks Peter.. I was running blind here.. so when you say vintage you mean factory T3 evaporator.. not an aircon guy so
I forgot about the condenser.. Doh! sounding too hard already.

Vintage air is a company in USA. I brought the unit (evaporator) through Jeremy at speedy air in Bundaberg.
It's a fair amount of work, removing the whole dash, heater matrix box and associated plumbing.
    Basically start from scratch.

Aaargh!.... way to hard for my limited skills.. Beautiful job Peter. Huge thanks for showing me just just how much work
is involved. Looks like open windows is the way I'll be going.
Over and out for aircon in kimosabi's T3
