Wow, I thought ours was a bargain - that's unbelievable! Hope the new owners look after it.
What is official" VW" for povo blue?
Also found this. Apparently only 85000km from new. If legit and has been looked after its a bargain. I only know what's in the ad.
who in their right mind takes a photo of their vehicle in a picture on a computer screen. Or is it sales genius
Haha maybe his wife told him to sell it, so he made this ad and said 'its on Gumtree dear ' in the knowledge that it'd never sell ;-)
And it probably has a 5 digit odometer in any case!
Yeah that's what I was thinking, but he swears that it's legitimate and that an old bloke bought it new and drove it once a week or something.
I'll just add it to my list of items to check when I look at it this weekend
Report back on how you go.
If it is, indeed, that good I wouldn't be waiting until the weekend......
Lots of unscrupulous types out there (with access to this thread) that will gazump you......
Its happened before & it'll happen again,......unfortunately one of the risks of putting up info. for folks to comment on.
At least call the seller & confirm that he'll hold it until you inspect it... a long shot for some.
Good luck !!
Wise words from that young bloke, who posts as Oldman.
So the "One Owner", was the previous owner, or the one before that?
Haha good point grant, but I get the impression that he is selling it for the 'original' owner. But I could be wrong.
To be honest guys, it's most likely that I won't buy this car. Just finance situation right now. I will however still have a look at it, even though it's a fair drive from the G town to Hamilton.
I will report back as asked. If anyone is interested in it, I can get him to hold it, and I could possibly organise the sale and transport within reason(if you trust a random bloke on the forum).
I will take my father along or at least talk to him by phone while viewing it, as he owned and worked on two t3s, before enough kids moved out to allow him to buy the land rover he always wanted
Will also follow the t3 checklist.
Honestly think it could be a scam. He sent me 2 of the same photo as on his ad when I asked for more. :/ ...but will look into that as well.
Thanks for your opinions as well
If you've ever been to Hamilton, Victoria then you'll know that genius is an interesting choice for a word...
I'm guessing utter ineptitude or incapacity over scam...
Scams don't usually allow you to arrange a time to personally inspect the non existant (or owned by someone else), vehicle in the ad pic.
Keen to hear about your viewing.... please take plenty of pics!
Maybe he just gets to inspect the computer screen.
Hahahaha one fact tells the whole story. ... The sump plug was siliconed over. A long time ago. I'll give a full report when I get home but needless to say, won't be buying it.....
Yes but did he use genuine Volkswagen silicone?
Must be painful, taking the engine apart, and sucking out the oil every 5,000kms, just to do the oil change ......
You dont need to change oil, just top up when the old stuff is all burned up
At least it doesn't leak all over your driveway from the sump plug.......
Separate names with a comma.
