C’mon Rick...... if someone organises an event wanting just classic Splitties, I know I’d not turn up in a T3. Would you front up in a Bay ? o_O

And yes, there are many events that are model specific, which is cool.

You did say to me, at the VW Nationals 2019, that you weren’t really into VW shows anyway, and thought you’d do just that one.

If you’ve since changed your mind about VW gatherings, just diarise the ones you actually want to attend, and ignore the others....... Berry, BusStop, Nationals, Old Bar etc.....:)

Yes I did say that. That was about show and shine. I don't like that sort of thing.
Had nothing to do with meeting and being with like minded people.
My kombi has a T3 engine, I've just purchased another off Cbus, I've owned a T3 that my original came from. Many here on the Komdi club have benefitted from it when I passed it on. Down to Sydney for the interior, back up here for some parts. Off to Newy for some more, then I believe to Qld somewhere. I've also been on the lookout for T3's and beyond.
I believe you're starting an enclave which I don't think any bay, t4,5 whatever or splitty owners have ever done or wanted.
Your alienating your selves which is fine if that's what your aiming for.
I don't know Andy Ho but would have liked to have met him. I'm probably earlier than his relm supplying VW engines and taking care of warranty throughout Sydney And Aus while at ERS a part of Repco engine reconditioning Vic,
Anyway not happy with the lock out attitude but happy to give it a miss

It’s really not an enclave, and I don’t believe anyone is attempting to alienate themselves.

It’s simply just a casual gathering of T3 dudes, if they wish to attend.

And due to other commitments, I’m not even able to attend the gathering, as are many other of the KC T3 pilots.

I just see it as a get together, and like if any other KC member want’s to create an event, it should be supported, without any negativity.

    Thanks for the details Phil.

Looking forward to a fun night.

Doesn't matter what you do these days - someone will always be offended.

Rick we are not creating an enclave or a club within a club, its just a gathering of T3's plain and simple. For a couple of the T3 guys coming it is their first event and we are hoping it will lead to gaining confidence to join KC and attend other events like Old Bar or Bus Stop. Its not a competition. No matter what is said I'm not sorry the gathering is happening. I am comfortable being a part of KC, online or at any event. Apart from The Samba I'm not a member of any other club or forum for a reason, I like KC & the people. So people need to lighten up

Good on you Phil for arranging the T3 campout.
It looks like it's getting plenty of favour...here's hoping for fine weather for you guys.
If we lived a bit closer, I'd be looking forward to coming along and catching up with like minded buddies.....to talk about radiators and cooling systems.
    Gerry.

An inspiring initiative Phil and I'm sure owners are chompjng at the bit to be part of this months inaugural T3 campout & camaraderie. Bring it on!
Wanting to come, will see. Family medical/hospital issues around that time may preclude.

Can those that expressed an interest in coming to the T3 Camp Out please PM me with the details requested in the flyer posted earlier such as how many people will be in your group and space requirements of your van such as awning or side tent etc so we can ensure enough space is allocated.

    “ALL SPACES FILLED”? o_O

Damn, I was considering borrowing a friends Splittie to show up in...... :p

Oh well, enjoy all. I’ll just head off to Vic as previously planned. Besides, the Formula 1 2020 season kicks off in Melbourne that weekend, assuming they let the Italians into the country to participate.

Dont think a splitty would be able to breach the security gates however the Kanga Banga would be another story :)

I thought I’d have to camp outside the gates in the splittie, and just peer in to see, and listen to what’s happening....

Thanks for chasing me up Phil. Can confirm I will be there and bringing possibly the sole air cooled T3. So no burping or farting needed!

So there’s two defined separate segregated areas for the weekend?

Don’t want airborne issues, transferring to waterborne ones. ;)
