I live in Tasmania, and I have a 1976 camper and I use it often when traveling for the weekend or long weekend. One of my favourite place is on Bruny Island, a variety of camping areas. North or South, Cloudy Beach, North or South, Jetty Beach camping area and The Neck. Plenty of fun :)
    Cheers

    Hi Kermit the Kombi,

Bruny Island sounds nice! Any surf on the eastern beaches? Or is it all inaccessible forest? When we go down to visit friends in Petcheys Bay, I wanna check out Bruny Island....

I'm going away this weekend, Brian and Cathy. So I will put up some photos from Jetty Beach campsite and the Cloudy Bay campsites. Yes, Cloudy bay nearly always has good surf, it's easy to get to. The bottom part is better for 4 wheel drives, but my Kombi can get down there easily, the sand is normally pretty hard :) Bruny Island is great.

ohh, take care on cloudy beach if you dare.
i got my bus bogged up to the center of all four wheels once on cloudy.
Easy enough to jack out if you carry boards, a MUST i would say if beach driving.
but other than that Bruny is amazing, definitely recommend it :)

So I went camping last night, stayed in my comfy Kermit :) Took plenty of pictures, we were the only ones there. $10 camping fee for two, very very clean and new toilet block. Barbecue area and fire area, so comfortable for the evening! Picture will be up next week, have to develop them myself!

Hey, I like it! Old skool vehicle (Kermit), old skool photos....

The irony is that to post your photos here on KC you have to digitally scan the photos, upload them to PhotoBucket (or similar) and post. Shame really. I like stuff that lasts longer than 2 years and was created with a bit of thought

Can't wait to see the photos!

Ohh gosh, haha. Is this the first Kombi you've owned? I looked on your website the other day, haven't yet seen you around, but I really love the idea! It's perfect!
Well I have Kermit, and my mum has Gonzo (soon to be blue) when we restore him.
About to do a big trip all the way up to Byron!
    Yay :)

Yeah, is my first Kombi. Byron sounds good. I nearly bought a Kombi from QLD, would have been a long slow trip!
