Great trip. We have been in Tassie 5 times and each time spent the best part of three months. In the past we have camped in our kombis in the free camps but not sure if you can in all places as some now say you must be self contained. i.e. black and grey water containers. We are currently in Tassie in our Sprinter van, upgraded or is that downgraded from the kombi a couple of years back, supporting my wife's sister who is in Launceston General Hospital. We do go out to some of the free sites to have a break so may see you out there. Looking forward to your posts.

First stop Mystery bay or Bermagui Monday night (our favorite places) then a camp at Stratford on the river (Avon) past Bairnsdale near Sale Tuesday
Wednesday we will catch up with Doug and Sarah in Hawthorn, these are the people we bought Blitz off 5 and something years ago (Doug has never seen him finished).
Later in the evening boarding on the Spirit of Tassie for Devonport.
    All systems go.

I live in Tassie, so if you wan to catch up with a fellow Kombi owner just let me know. I live near Greens Beach in the North of the state, great spot.

Got back too late from the pub to take a pic of the campsite on the Avon river at Stratford.

Tomorrow we're in Hawthorn visiting friends before getting on the boat in the evening.

It's been a long day but managed to wave at a few kombis going the other way.

    Cheers
