    Hi All

Well we have finally finished the restorations of Jake and Elwood and thought you might like to see the end product(s).

They are about to start life as Kombis by the Beach which is a weddings, formals and special occassion chauffeured driven hire service in and around Port Macquarie.

The first gigs for both are on 14th November.

    Hi Kai

Elwood can legally carry 6 (3 in the back and 3 in the front). At some stage I am planning to add a 2nd row of three in the back but facing backwards and reducing the three in the front to two.

Jake can carry 8 (2 rows of three in the back and 2 singles in the front.

Thanks everyone for your comments. We are very pleased with how the buses have turned out. Lots of hard work but worth it in the end

    cheers Paul

Wow good work mate. I just thought of a really good photo. Have both doors open on the double and have your other parked facing the side. So when you take the photo, its looking through the doors at the front of the other kombi. If that makes sense lol :)

Thanks everyone for your great comments. I've been away with work for the past week or so and haven't been able to get near a computer to post replies!

Thanks for the tip Joel, I'll try your photo suggestion and post the results on here.

The blue is the original factory colour of Elwood (the 76 double door) which was delivered new to England. The 77 was white but as I wanted a pair of Blues Brothers Jake was sprayed blue too. My spray painter was able to match the code up after a lot of leg work and help by paint reps.

The restorations were mainly done by professionals and I think the quality of finish reflects that. I did my bit where my skills let me!

Unfortunately I didn't think to take before shots.

If anyone is interested next week check out www.kombisbythebeach.com.au as it should be live by then.
