It was on sale on evil bay approx 6 months ago, I was sorely tempted to buy it, it was still on the Sunny Coast and I think that it never reached its reserve price.......

If you still have the chassis number in your paperwork yoh may be able to track it down through a pre purchase check or through qld transport?

Haven't heard any more about this one since the day you sold it. Prolly a cubby house in someone's back yard.

Time to build a new one perhaps ?, what motor was fitted ? I remember seeing a type 3 wagon years ago fitted with a P76 4.4 V8 and always thought a rover V8 would be a good choice. I do have a nice low k 4.4 sitting in my shed awaiting a new home.

Finding the donor Kombi with a decent body would be the hardest part of the whole project. The next bit is actually degrading the originality of a good bay Kombi and the value hit you'd suffer by taking the original motor out and fitting a V8.
