Just picked up my new Vintage Speed exhaust and headers from George. Can't wait till Thursday to put it on. I have one, maybe two stripped threads for the exhaust studs that I have to Helicoil first and then put in replacement studs I pulled from an old head. Should keep me busy for a while.:)

Got one on the 2 litre and got him started the other day since the rebuild. Sounds sweet, can't wait now to finish him and cruise.

Fellas...a query from a more traditional ( read " older generation " ) ersatz male. The exclamatory outpourings gushing with such undisguised adoration...for an exhaust ???? Clearly it is something special....but what ? Being the strong minded ( read " feeble ", follow the pack mentality ) individual I am , what is so speciall bout a VS exhaust. I have studied the photo carefully...perhaps something sexual or sensually concealed in the piping...no...nothing there. Perhaps something ecclesiastical...a hidden Christ on the cross perhaps...but ..no ..another blank. I am of the view that my life will be a richer existence if I have one...do you put them on the wall ??Certainly wouldnt want to ruin it by putting it on /under the belching bowels of my beloved. What is so good about VS that grown men with whom I have had thoughtful discourse with, should be so reduced to babbling cyber syncophants over something that I throw out every 2.5 years. Cant wait to find out ??? John Doherty in perplexed Adelaide:cool:

JD, VS are top quality build products - high grade stainless bling to dribble over for a lifetime & attract gazes from green-eyed monsters at every VW meet.....
Buy 'em once & that's all you'll need. The note they emit from a 2ltr is awesome & been likened to the fabled "brown-note".........
The polished lines are engineering porn in themselves & worthy of the rhetoric gushed here.
Hope things are well down South.
    Cheers, Mark

Thanks Old fella...I emitted " brown notes " once. It was in India. It certainly received rhetorical reaction from those adjacent , but not complimentary. I prefer Dingo,s explanation but have made a note to look into one. Lifetime you say ? In my case not that long but worth a look. I have a 2 litre so , on the shopping list. Have a good day yo'all.
