    As WN penned,
"On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again"..........

If you know the song and what WN stands for, you are officially OLD;)

Fitted a new alternator belt as noticed some chunks out of the one on it so it was just waiting to break on the way to Berry. Replaced a tail light bulb which was blown. All water cooled T3 owners should carry a spare alternator belt and if have P/S then one of those as well. All you need to change the belt is a 13mm ring spanner and a screw driver for leverage when tightening. If you have P/S then will also need to carry a 15mm ring spanner as you need to remove the P/S belt to get the new Alt belt on. Take 15 minutes. Better than a blown motor or a tilt tray trip. If driving and see battery light come on then the alt belt is off or broken so stop immediately and change it, as you cannot drive a water cooled T3 without an alt belt as it runs the water pump.

Yes I can Phil, I can drive my T3 without an alternater belt. And boy, doesn't it make an almighty whacking sound as broken belt meets tinware. I do carry a spare but why fret on the roadside when one has a few hours of safe driving left.

Hi Rob, ok so I forgot to mention Water Cooled T3's should not drive with a broken alternator belt, there is no safe driving for a water cooled T3 with a broken alt belt :)

Ta. And the trap with the AC T3 is the alternator drives the secondary fan which feeds the heater boxes and thus COOLS the exhaust tubes and exhaust valves. No alternator belt, no secondary air flow, leading to a hot engine. So, yes I can drive but at a slower speed monitoring cylinder head temperatures.

Found a 6 foot tube to get some leverage to get the wheel nuts off which were as dry as the proverbial......and had binded on, greased the threads and nut faces and put all the wheels back on. :)
