I'd be looking @ something in this range http://shop.vintagespeed.com.tw/s.nl/sc.12/category.2/.f - there are some Aussie suppliers but you have to weigh up cost direct v parts dealers then also if something does go wrong (can happen to anything you buy) speed in claiming warranty.

Purchase a Vintagespeed from Vintage Vee Dub Supplies or Custom Bugs and Buses.

Give Al a call at Das Resto parts

    My vote is for Vintagespeed

They sell performance and stock types.
They have benefits like O2 sensor locations and quality stainless construction

    Hi Alpal,

The standard exhaust I have on it now is starting to deteriorate (slight leaks & rusting ) so when it does need to be replaced was thinking of either sport or standard o_O not sure which way I will go with it at this stage just doing a bit of research into both systems !:)

Stu, Igor's was a custom made exhaust - at the time don't think Vintage Speed was doing them as that was 10 years back. Hell time has gone fast

Were ceramic coated in/out and straight through stainless steel muffler:

Stock will fit without fouling on bumper/towbar etc and heater/demister will work.
Also will work well with standard engine/tune.
Sports might give you a bit of noise but would not expect performance unless you upgrade other items to suit.
I dudded up our old exhaust by cutting a hole on the passenger side and welding a second outlet pipe to give a dual exhaust.
Works OK and blurts a bit louder.

anything aftermarket needs to be stainless. empi mild steel are trash. stock last for years . My bay has same treatment as Alpal. doubt any difference in performance [i didnt do it] but mellow note .
