    Very limited tyre choices.
A change of wheels to maybe 16" would give much better options.

Not to sure,my sister put her beetle on the Ghan from Port Augusta to Alice Springs ,It was a bastard to start as the jiggling of the train as it was going along the tracks, end up flooding it.

Could be nasty if sump full of fuel.

If it's a carb motor might pay to have the transport alerted to the possibility before they try and start it.

Not crappy - limited choice in replacement

Sometimes better can mean less choice.
Once you have proper details you will know exactly what you have

I think it's a long shot but worth checking if possible now issue has need raised.
I don't know what instructions can be given for unloading but if possible have oil level checked before starting and unloading.
Oil level a cm or more above upper level on dipstick, strong smell of fresh fuel, big puddle of oil under engine could indicate fuel has got into sump via carbs.
Checking level on dipstick is going to be problematic for the uninitiated.

If this scenario arises the engine MUST NOT be started but bus rolled off and oil and filter changed before starting..

    Unlikely but worth checking.

Take a spare filter and a bottle 5l of penrite HPR30 with you.
Plus a 4 litre drain tray and empty container for the waste oil.
You will also need a filter remover as it may be tight plus a 13mm ring spanner or socket.
